Charles Barkley is entitled to his opinion of LeBron James. I love the fact that he has an opinion.
Wednesday he dropped this bomb on Dan Patrick’s radio show:
“If I was LeBron James, I would shut the hell up. I’m a big LeBron fan. He’s a stud. You gotta give him his props. I’m getting so [...]

Nothing got in Boston’s way tonight.
They’re leading 99-75 with two minutes to go. I think it’s out of reach. I’ll have more later…
Brian Scalabrine just hit his first 3-pointer of the game. Crowd went nuts. There goes the “Scal-a-breenee” chant.
Fitting end to the night.
Boston’s up 46-28 at halftime. They shot 47.4 percent and held Philly to 33.3 percent shooting.
Garnett, Perkins and Allen have each scored eight points.
Be back in a bit.
Kendrick Perkins just threw down a huge dunk to put Boston 10-4 at 6:42 in the first.
A few possessions ago, Perkins faked Samuel Dalembert out of his shoes and scored. Looked like Hakeem for a minute.
Everything’s working for the Celtics so far.
About 20 minutes to go before tip off here at the Garden. Boston is wearing its green and black third uniforms. Philly’s sporting some pretty sweet red white and blue old school threads.
Apparently, Allen Iverson’s absence at Pistons practice was the topic of conversation at Ray Allen’s home yesterday.
“People at my house were assuming it [...]
I never understood the enthusiasm surrounding River Rival athletics until Thanksgiving Day last year. I’d covered the spring, summer and fall sports during my first year as sports editor, but never had I seen anything to prepare me for the Thanksgivi…
Practice wrapped up about an hour ago in Waltham. As reporters were let in, Doc Rivers was speaking to the team about Helen Heinsohn, who passed away Monday. “She was just a courageous lady,” Doc said afterward.
Interviews were brief due to an NBA Player’s Association meeting. After he was done talking to reporters, Ray [...]
Tommy Heinsohn’s wife Helen passed away Monday.
Here’s a fine tribute , with a lot of insight. She’ll be missed in the Celtics community.
I’m heading over to practice soon. I’ll check in later.
Wouldn’t it be crazy? A year ago, they were 18-and-0. They were the best, maybe ever … or so we thought. But they couldn’t finish the job.
Now, 7-4, with too many key players on the injured list, they might be in position to win it all.
Really.
Of course, they would need a little luck (like a [...]
To borrow a phrase from Randy Moss, the Celtics are playing hellified ball these days.
While the Patriots were beating up on the Dolphins, Boston smashed the Raptors 118-103. That’s three straight blowouts, five straight wins overall.
Couple encouraging things from this one: The Celtics shot 61.6 percent. Ray Allen scored 21 points (8 of 12) and [...]
