Is Cassel the right choice?

A week ago, nobody was questioning Bill Belichick’s choice for Tom Brady’s backup. That all changed after Sunday’s debacle versus Miami.
Well, you can go on record now.
Is Matt Cassel the right choice to be quarterback for the Patriots for the entire season?
What about Dante Culpepper, who is a former teammate of Randy Moss?
What about Tim [...]

Where do the Pats go from here?

This one was a total demolition, a complete unmasking of a team with some severe flaws.
Not only was Matt Cassel bad, the line play on both sides was horrendous.
We’d love to have your thoughts headed to the bye week followed by two games on the West Coast.

When all else fails, use the umpire.

Matt Cassel gets help twice from the umpire, setting the screen on the cornerback and the Pats break the ice with a TD.
28-13, not an unrecoverable deficit, but the defense has to wake up and stop somebody.
Kudos again to Ellis Hobbs. The man’s cover skills are questionable, but he’s totally underrated as an NFL kick [...]

The Dolphin voice box has two sacks already.
First half grades for the Pats:
Offense
Line (F) … Matt Cassel is [...]

And there’s your answer.

The Pats defense watches Miami go 79 yards on six plays to take a 14-3 lead. Can somebody please tell safety James Sanders that he’s the 180-pounder and 250-pound tight ends like Anthony Fasano and David Martin aren’t going to run by him.
James, get into the action, or get out of the game. Martin and [...]

Gigantic defensive drive coming up for the Pats.

OK, New England answers the Miami TD with a 37-yard field goal from Steve Gostkowski. Now comes the big drive for the defense. A 3-and-out followed by a pats score puts the game back into proper perspective for the Pats. Time for the defense, which has allowed Miami 82 yards on 11 plays to step [...]

Sorry about the computer delays folks, but we are again up and running here at Foxboro, where the Pats find themselves in a 7-0 hole. Some quick observations:
Something has to give with the Dolphins playing up tight, daring Matt Cassel, who has already thrown one pick, to throw the football.
New England looks a step slow [...]

Maroney is inactive … Is that news?

Here’s an interesting twist to the injury report this week.
On Friday, Laurence Maroney was listed as questionable and recently acquired LaMont Jordan was listed as doubtful.
Who do you think is playing today and who will be dressed in civvies?
You guessed it: Maroney is inactive and Jordan is playing.
Was it “doctoring” of the injury list? Who [...]
