Special teams for the Jets set the tone, as they lost their punter with an illness before the game, yet still were able to dictate the field position with kicking. QB Mark Sanchez was very good, but will need some help from WR Braylon Edwards if they are to advance any deeper into the playoffs. Rex Ryan’s 46 defense, was soft against the run, especially on the weak side, but the score got too out of control for the running game to become a factor deep into the game. CB Darrelle Revis completely shut down WR Chad Ochocinco. Chad talked a good game, but when it came down to it, had 2 catches for 28 yards. He has all season to cry and come up with excuses, but he was flat out manhandled in this one.
Cincinnati was flat and completely outcoached. QB Carson Palmer played very poorly, overthrowing receivers all day. For such a quality QB he is yet to win a playoff game, and might now get the mantle Tony Romo once wore. RB Cedric Benson was fantastic, but he was the entire offense, and that won’t get it done in the second season. WR Chris Henry was missed, as the deep ball was nonexistent for the Bengals.
The Jets are a confident team right now. One of NFL Guy’s most passionate readers known as the Godfather, feels the Jets will go to the big dance. I disagree, but they sure will be fun to watch, especially if they have to play New England next week.

Mark Sanchez played a very efficient game in that he had a low amount of pass attempts and high completion percentage. He did not make mistakes and played the perfect part for the Jets' churning run offense that looked nearly unstoppable – even when the Bengals put 8 in the box.
It's a shame that Cedric Benson was not on a team more suited for his bruising running style. This season, Cedric Benson ran like Brandon Jacobs should have – although Benson has more speed.
