Former Patriot and present Cleveland Brown Donte Stallworth will serve 30 days in jail for DUI manslaughter for driving into a 59 year old man in Florida earlier this year.
The bottom line is Stallworth was able to pay substantial pentalies to the family to avoid serving the time he really deserves. Once again a rich athelete will get far less then he deserves.
In 1998 then St. Louis Leonard Little killed a woman while driving drunk, and was able to play in the Super Bowl. He served 90 days in jail. Six years later he was arrested for DUI again. At his trial he was found guilty of only speeding.
Today both men make a comfortable living playing for the NFL. In fact the day before Stallworth plowed into his victim, he was cut a check for $4.5 million dollars.
Sometimes it is hard to be an NFL fan.
